I had to buy Gavin another pair of long-sleeved footed pjs yesterday since the nights have gotten a lot cooler. He has all sorts of warm pajamas (18 month sized) that are of course a) still packed in our household goods in storage b) way too big- or I'd just let him wear the couple of pairs I bought when we moved here.

So I bought him some 12 months construction pajamas at the BX...he picked them out and loves them!

"Aren't my new pajamas snazzy?"

Before bed...every good baby must....

"Mmmmmm...that's what the vacuum says"

He thought it was especially funny when Daddy joined in the fun...

But the laugh is even better....

After "cleaning" his room, he eagerly climbed into bed and went right to bed. Of course this morning, when he woke up, he went straight to the vacuum and started all over again.

Loathing:

*The complete exhaustion I'm feeling these days. I remember thinking the first time I was pregnant, "How do people with other children cope with the extreme fatigue!?" I haven't figured out how to cope with it yet, I'm just that constantly yawning, barely out of my pajamas, dark circles under my eyes frazzled mom you see wherever you go. Be nice to her...she needs a nap!

*that the commissary was out of the frozen bread dough I love...it's one of my cravings (well, after I bake it). I had PLANS for that bread dough and they had to go put it on sale and I missed buying it!!

Loving:

* Finding a tub (vat, more like it) of pico de gallo at the commissary today. I know, I should just make my own, but that requires time and a cutting board and a knife OTHER than a paring knife (which is all I have right now!) But anyways, the pico de gallo is another craving...I lived off of it when we were in Texas. This doesn't compare to the HEB brand Hot pico de gallo, but it will do. Which makes me wonder..since we're so close to the TX border, I wonder if there's one right near the border...that could be like a 30 minute drive and it would be worth it for pico de gallo...

* food. Talk to me again in a few weeks when I probably will be subsisting on air and sunlight if my morning sickness is anything like with with Gavin. But right now, I LOVE food!

* the cooler weather. I had to buy Gavin another pair of footed pajamas (who would've thought it would be fall by the time we got our things back!) because he was waking up cold in the middle of the night!

* that Sarah is coming to visit some time next week! I can't wait to see you!! Gavin is all set to amaze you with all the things he couldn't do a year ago!!

Looking forward to:

*finding out if I got my first choice OB.

*being able to watch Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives online, someday (it won't work for me yet for some reason!)

* a playdate tomorrow!

* bed time (in about 15 minutes! as soon as I finish my second helping of pico de gallo)

Wallace has a girlfriend...

She's blonde, blue-eyed and well, she's a 8-year old little girl that is one of our neighbors.

She adores him. Anytime she sees him, she runs over (which scares Gromit) and asks to pet him. Wallace will sit politely and let her pat him on the head or scratch his chest or rub his ears.

Yesterday at the playground, Andrew was climbing after Gavin while I sat in the grass watching, holding the dogs' leashes. This little girl and two of her friends saw the dogs and came running over...

"Wallace! Wallace!" (yes, Gromit is snubbed, they know he's scared of them and don't try to pet him anymore).

They sat down and petted him for 5 minutes or so...

"He's so soft...I love his blue eye...His blue collar looks so cute on him...Aww, he kissed me!" and so it went until they finally got tired of petting him.

They left, Wallace whimpered, Gromit wagged his tail (they did pet him, and tell him he was soft too...don't feel too bad for him).

Later Andrew was walking them after dinner and the little girl came running up to Wallace..."Hi Wallace!" and gave him one last pat for the day.

Gromit just wants to remind Wallace that girls are yucky...and they like things like sparkles and kittens....he should be careful. (I'll agree with Gromit sort of here, while they were sitting petting them yesterday they had the weirdest conversations...why do girls that are 8 years-old intimidate me!?! at least until they talk about how they like to "hypnotize frogs"..and then I'm just left thinking..."What!?")

This morning after our walk, I was opening the windows and patio door to let in the fresh fall air, when Gavin tugged on me and handed me...a honeybee.

 Still alive, but curled up because it was probably so cold from the night.

I was amazed that he had picked it up so gently and that it didn't sting him...I'm sure it wouldn't have been so cooperative if it hadn't been so cold.

He squealed when I threw it over the balcony (yes, I felt bad after wards...why didn't I think to just lay it somewhere safe? Even though the dogs had come to investigate, so it probably just would've been eaten anyways). I can hope maybe it woke up mid-drop and flew away, or that it safely landed in the grass below...I'll just keep telling myself that anyways.

I just went to go check out a suspicious noise coming from Gavin's room, and could hardly get the door open.

Somehow, he'd gotten out of the pack n play that serves as his crib (the side was down...I have no idea how that's happening, but it worries me I am not sure if it's locking in place anymore).

He was sitting against the door playing with the pie tin I had let him have as a "drum" earlier, and happy as a clam.

I hope we can contain him at night, I wasn't quite ready to be putting him back in bed after escapes yet!

(One more reason I can't wait to have our things back and his crib....unless he can climb out of it too!)

I found this through a blog of a close friend...it interested me, so I'm posting my version here.

7 things I plan to do before I die:

1. Live in England again.
2. Run a half-marathon (we can't all be as ambitious as you-Amy ;) ).
3. See the Pacific Ocean
4. Really read the Bible all the way through.
5. Take Gavin to Disney World (I've never been either!)
6. Climb a mountain. (I'm not too ambitious..any "mountain" can count).
7.Finish crocheting those stuffed whippets for Gavin.

7 things I can do:

1. Read books pretty fast, I've read about 20 books since I moved here a month ago.
2. Follow a recipe with (usually) good results.
3. Twirl a baton (or last time I tried I hadn't forgotten any of it).
4. I know sign language (not fluent...but I know it).
5. Bargain shop.
6. Play the flute/piccolo. It's something I wish I had continued through college.
7. Complete crossword puzzles with general ease (Not the Sunday NY Times though by any means!)

7 things I cannot do:

1. Run for a long distance
2. Whistle with my lips (I use my tongue).
3. Speak another language.
4. Resist Target. Unfortunately, I must start doing this!!
5. Drive a stick shift.
6. Play Monopoly without getting angry and throwing the board. (The last time I played Monopoly was in college with Andrew...he refuses to play with me anymore...its the only game I am a sore loser about.)
7. Shuffle cards.
